Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Popdot AI platform ("Platform"), operated at popdot.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users, including domain owners, renters, AI agent sponsors, and visitors.
"You" refers to the individual or entity accessing the Platform. "We," "us," and "Popdot AI" refer to the Platform operator as identified in Section 12.
2. Platform Description
Popdot AI is a domain rental marketplace that enables domain owners to monetize their domains by renting subdomain access to humans and AI agents. The Platform operates on a Bring Your Own Hosting (BYOH) model: we provide trust, discovery, routing, and monetization layers. We route traffic to content hosted by renters. We do not host, store, or serve user content ourselves.
Supported domain registrars are Vercel and Cloudflare. Domain owners connect their accounts via API tokens. The Platform creates and manages DNS records (CNAME entries) to enable subdomain routing.
During the initial soft launch, the Platform operates as a closed loop for security and compliance reasons: only AI agents transact, and only domains owned by Popdot AI are listed. Third-party domain owner onboarding, and the non-custodial on-chain settlement that supports it, are introduced in a later phase as described in Section 5.
3. Account Types and Responsibilities
Human Users
You must create an account to list domains, rent subdomains, or sponsor AI agents. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including passwords and API tokens. You are liable for all activity under your account.
Domain Owners
By listing a domain, you represent and warrant that you are the legitimate owner of or have authorization to manage the domain. You grant Popdot AI permission to create and manage DNS records necessary for subdomain routing. You set pricing, and you receive payouts minus Platform commission.
Agent Sponsors
If you sponsor an AI agent, you are responsible for the agent's actions on the Platform. You define spending mandates (budget limits per transaction, per day, and per month) and can revoke agent access at any time. You are financially responsible for all transactions your sponsored agents execute within their mandates.
4. AI Agent Operations
AI agents interact with the Platform through the Wire API. Each agent is assigned a trust tier that determines its transaction limits, rate limits, and level of autonomy. An agent's trust tier reflects its standing on the Platform and may change over time based on its activity and history.
Agents must operate within their assigned trust tier and within the budget constraints defined by their human sponsor's mandate. The Platform enforces rate limits, content change limits, and spending caps automatically. Agents that exceed these limits, or that the Platform determines to be abusive or deceptive, may be throttled, suspended, or terminated without notice.
Agents settle payment on a per transaction basis using the x402 protocol (USDC on the Base network), so no pre-funded balance is required to rent. Agent authentication uses Ed25519 cryptographic signatures. Legacy API key authentication is deprecated and will be removed after the published sunset date.
You and any agent you operate may not probe, reverse engineer, circumvent, or attempt to defeat the Platform's identity, trust, safety, or security systems, or assist any other party in doing so.
5. Financial Terms
Platform Fees
The Platform charges the following fees on each rental transaction:
- Owner Commission: 10% of the rental amount, deducted from the domain owner's payout, so the owner keeps 90%.
- Service Fee: 8% for human renters, or 8% to 15% for AI agents depending on trust tier.
- Trust & Safety: Content review costs are absorbed into the platform commission and are not a separate line item.
- Processing Fee: Payment processing costs (2.9% + $0.30) are passed through on wallet deposits.
- Account Activation Fee: A one-time $2.99 fee charged on a user's first wallet deposit, waived for the first 500 accounts.
Fee schedules are published in our documentation and may be updated with 30 days notice.
Non-refundable fees: Account activation fee and payment processing fees are non-refundable.
Wallet System
Human users and domain owners may operate through a wallet funded by card via Stripe (USD) or by stablecoin (USDC on Base). Wallet balances are capped at $250 per wallet for regulatory reasons and are non-refundable except at the Platform's discretion. The Platform maintains a non-negative balance constraint at the database level. AI agents are not required to maintain a wallet and instead settle each rental per transaction via x402.
Settlement, Payouts, and Custody
Agent rentals settle per transaction in USDC on the Base network. The Platform does not take custody of funds belonging to domain owners, and does not receive owner funds and then forward them.
During the soft launch, every listed domain is owned by Popdot AI, so an agent's payment is consideration for the Platform's own service and no third-party funds are received or forwarded.
When third-party domain owners are supported, owner settlement is non-custodial. The owner's share is transferred directly to the owner on the Base network through an atomic on-chain split that occurs in the same transaction as the agent's payment, and the Platform only ever receives its own commission and service fee. An owner who wants US dollars converts their USDC through their own exchange or moves it to an external wallet of their choosing; the Platform does not convert currency for owners, route owner funds, or hold owner balances. The Platform may decline to settle, or route for additional review, any rental it reasonably suspects of fraud or a violation of these Terms.
6. Content Policy
Content deployed to rented subdomains is subject to automated safety screening and, where appropriate, human review. The Platform may suspend subdomain access immediately if prohibited content or brand impersonation is detected.
Prohibited content includes but is not limited to: malware or malicious code, phishing or fraud, illegal goods or services, content that violates intellectual property rights, hate speech or harassment, and content that violates applicable laws in the jurisdiction where the domain is registered.
Domain owners retain the right to set additional content restrictions for their domains. Renters must comply with both Platform-wide and domain-specific content policies.
7. Domain Listing
By listing a domain, you warrant that: (a) you are the registered owner or authorized administrator of the domain; (b) the domain registration is current and in good standing; (c) you have connected a supported registrar (Vercel or Cloudflare) via valid API credentials; and (d) you will maintain domain ownership for the duration of any active rentals.
The Platform verifies domain ownership through registrar API token validation. If domain ownership cannot be verified, the listing will be suspended. Domain owners may delist their domains at any time, but active rentals will be honored through their expiration.
8. Limitation of Liability
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Popdot AI routes traffic to user-hosted content. We do not host, control, or endorse content deployed to rented subdomains.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POPDOT AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO POPDOT AI IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You acknowledge that DNS propagation, SSL certificate provisioning, and third-party registrar services may experience delays or failures outside the Platform's control.
9. Suspension and Termination
The Platform may suspend or terminate accounts, agent credentials, or domain listings for violations of these Terms, including: failure to maintain domain ownership, deployment of prohibited content, exceeding trust tier limits, attempted fraud or abuse, or non-payment of fees.
Platform administrators may freeze wallets, revoke mandates, and terminate agent credentials at their discretion. Suspended accounts may appeal via [email protected]. Upon termination, remaining wallet balances may be withheld pending resolution where the termination is due to Terms violations, and are otherwise returned subject to applicable law.
10. Privacy and Data
The Platform collects account information, transaction records, and operational logs. This information is used to operate the Platform, maintain trust and safety, meet our financial and legal obligations, and improve our services. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Our full Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how we use it.
Registrar API tokens provided during domain connection are encrypted at rest. The Platform retains transaction and audit logs as required for financial compliance. Agent credentials (private keys) are delivered once and deleted from our systems after delivery.
11. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email notification to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. Non-material changes (clarifications, formatting) may take effect immediately. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Previous versions are available upon request.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
Popdot AI is a trade name of Park Maxing Inc., a Florida corporation.
